About
Hi, I'm Meredith.
Ph.D., LPC-S — Therapist, Educator, and founder of The Dopamine Doctor.

I didn't set out to become The Dopamine Doctor. I got here the same way most people find their calling — through my own struggle. I know what it feels like to be stuck in habits you can't explain, to wake up exhausted by a life that looks fine on the outside. Getting sober and rebuilding my relationship with my own mind changed everything. For the first time, I understood what it felt like when my brain was actually working the way it was designed to — and I became obsessed with understanding why.
Over 7,000 clinical hours and 400+ therapists trained later, I kept seeing the same pattern: people who were intelligent, motivated, and self-aware — but completely stuck. Foggy. Flat. Disconnected from themselves and the people they loved. Most of them thought something was wrong with them. None of them realized their habits were the hidden driver behind nearly everything they were suffering from.
The more I studied neuroscience, the clearer it became: this isn't an accident. The System of Mass Distraction — social media algorithms, big tech, big food, nicotine, engineered overstimulation — is designed to hijack the dopamine system. The brain fog, the low motivation, the emotional volatility, the inability to be present — these aren't personal failures. They're the predictable result of a brain under siege.
I started presenting the neuroscience at national mental health conferences and watched something shift in the room every time. Not because the science was new — but because finally having language for what you're experiencing is freeing. I built The Dopamine Doctor to put that in everyone's hands. You don't need to be in therapy to understand your own brain. You just need the right tools.
